Welcome people in love with the sky

At Vahina-Paradis for 2027

Two rooms for two couples, facing the Tallard airfield. All day long, aircraft pass over the trees. There is nothing for you to do: lie down in the grass and look up.

The ground is yours, the sky takes care of the rest.

A husky lying in the tall grass. A mattress thrown down in the shade of the great trees. And up above, it never stops. Look closely: this is exactly what we are offering. You do not move, and something is happening.

The sky over Tallard

A permanent ballet above your heads.

Tallard is one of the largest light-aviation airfields in Europe: gliders, parachutists, microlights, helicopters, hot-air balloons. The house stands two kilometres away, beneath the flight path. The aircraft pass over the roof, within binocular range — and the silence of the gliders, in the middle of all that movement, has something unreal about it.

compulsory activities — you owe nothing to anyone

Let us say it straight away

This is not a silent place. It is a living one.

From morning to evening, engines turn above the trees. The steady hum of light aircraft, helicopters, microlights. If you are looking for the absolute silence of the high mountains, this is not the place — and we would rather tell you before you book.

But the airfield closes at nightfall, and everything stops at once. Evening comes down over the mountain, and the silence that returns is not the same as the silence of a place where nothing has happened.

By dayThe aerial ballet, within binocular range. A background of engines, and the mute passage of the gliders.
In the eveningThe airfield closes at nightfall. The sky empties. It gets truly dark, and you can see every star.
At nightNo sound, no light. You will sleep as you have not slept in a long time.

The promise

You came here to settle. We will not disturb you.

We will not suggest activities. We will not organise anything. In the morning, we set off walking with Vahina — you may follow us, or stay in bed. The rest belongs to the two of you, and to the sky.

The grounds

Six thousand square metres of grass and great trees, far from any other house. No neighbours, no road. Just a meadow, a house, and the sky above.

The privacy

Two rooms. Two couples at most under the same roof. No children, no pets. Your room, your shower room, your WC — and no one to knock at the door.

The wild

A hundred hectares of nature reserve begin at the end of the garden. The canyon, the trails, the cold water. You need only step outside.

Time together

It takes three days to come back to yourself.

On the first day, you sleep. On the second, you look at the sky and say nothing — and there is always something to look at. On the third, something starts moving again, and that is when the stay really begins.

That is why we ask for three nights at the very least. Rest cannot be summoned in a single night, and neither can finding each other again.

The only fixed hour

Dawn in the hills, before the airfield opens.

Vahina is a Siberian husky. Every morning she sets off into the hills of Châteauvieux, at the hour when the light still grazes the rock and the first aircraft has not yet taken off. It is the only rhythm of the house, and it obliges no one.

You may follow her — an hour, two hours, the two of you, at an hour of the day few people still know. Or you may stay under the covers and let the day break without you. Breakfast will be waiting either way.

Who is it for?

This place is for you if…

You love watching the sky

Without necessarily wanting to go up into it. Gliders, canopies, balloons — a spectacle that asks nothing of you but a little attention.

You have worked too hard

And you no longer quite know how to stop. Here, stopping is not an option: it is all there is.

You are coming as a couple

To find each other again, without screens or schedules. You need only give the evening silence three days to do its work.

You prefer the real to the glossy

A white house with a red roof, standing alone among the trees. Plain linen, an honest breakfast. This is not a luxury hotel. It is far better than that.

We do not host children or pets. Two couples at most, never more. Vahina is the only animal presence on the grounds.

Your hosts

Philiboss & Vahina — present, never in the way.

An artist, a photographer, in love with the sky: Philiboss chose to live facing the runways of Tallard. He makes breakfast, then he sets off walking with Vahina. He knows the trails, the right hours and the right places — he will tell you if you ask, and say nothing if you do not.

Thirty-five years on stage taught him one thing: to receive people well is also to know how to disappear.
